    Lesson Plans for the week of June 5th to the 14th

    Sports Week 6/05/06-6/09/06
    Greeting circle: Follow everyday routine

    Small group ideas for sports week
    -Painting balls on construction paper
    -Balance beam
    -basketball hoop
    -car race (inside w/ block area cars or outside with big cars)
    -hopping race
    -hulahoops (can place them on floor and hop in each of them)
    -hot potato
    -making balls out of tissue paper and tossing into basket

    Large group ideas for sports week:
    -balance beam
    -basketball hoop
    -rolling/throwing ball to each other in circle
    -trampoline
    -big ball
    -freeze
    -hulahoops
    -follow the leader

    Message Time:
    -dry-erase markers
    -chalk (on outside sidewalk or on chalkboards)
    -crayons
    -markers
    -stamp-markers

    Story Time:
    -Read any book in closet related to sports

    Work Time:
    -students can plan by taking turns catching a ball (whoever the ball is thrown to gets a turn to plan)

    Community Helpers Week 6/12/06-6/14/06

    Greeting Circle: Follow everyday routine

    Small Group Ideas:
    -dress up in firefighter, doctor, police, mailman costumes
    -puppets (community helper puppets)
    -play doctor
    -play w/construction worker kit
    -school buses
    -play post office (writing and placing messages in other student’s cubby)

    Large group ideas:
    -freeze
    -instruments
    -follow the leader

    Story Time:
    Any book in closet related to community helpers
